Poor handling will increase the chances of leaks and damage. This article contains advice and tips for emptying and moving your waterbed. If you have further questions, you can always contact us.

1. EMPTYING THE WATERBED

Never move the waterbed while there is water still in it. The stabilisation layers may shift, and the mattress will never be the same again. Before you move the bed, you must empty the water mattress while it is still completely flat.

Always use a powerful pump to pump out the water from the mattress so you get all the water out and make it vacuum. Connect the water hose from the pump to the mattress filler opening. You will receive a connector for your waterbed for this. Ensure there is as little air as possible in the mattress when opening the filler opening.

Caution: It is not possible to remove the water from the waterbed by siphoning. This technique is not powerful enough to suck the last few litres of water out of the water mattress. It will also allow air to get into the water bag, causing the stability layers to shift when the mattress is folded.

2. FOLDING THE MATTRESS

Once there is no more water being pumped out, and the stabilisation layers are firmly attached, you can fold up the mattress. First fold the head end and the foot end to the middle of the mattress. You now have a mattress that is folded in three. Now fold the mattress again along the width to make six layers.

3. STORAGE OF THE WATERBED

If you cannot put the bed back in place immediately, store the mattress in a dry, clean, dark place. Avoid sharp objects to prevent damage. In any case, the lifespan of the mattress will be reduced if it is stored for a longer period of time. Do you need some more advice about moving your waterbed? Please contact us.
