SLEEP SEPARATELY, SLEEP BETTER?

Not sleeping in the same room as a couple, fortunately it's no longer taboo these days. There is even a word for it: a SAT relation (sleeping apart together), similar to the LAT relation (living apart together).

1. SOLUTION FOR SNORING

Snoring is about more than a little night noise in the bedroom. It can have a tricky effect on your relationship. Often, the snorer's partner sleeps little or badly because of the decibels they have to listen to every night. To avoid arguments, sleeping separately is a good alternative. This way you will at least get up with a better mood!

2. EACH HIS SLEEP RITUALS

No matter how close you are as a couple, you can't always do everything together. The same goes for sleep rituals. Maybe you'd like to read until 2 a.m., while your partner prefers to crawl into bed at 11 p.m. Or does your partner still watch TV in the bedroom and bother you? With a chambre séparée you can still cuddle up until you get tired and then go to sleep in your own bed. Peace and quiet for everyone!

3. NO FIGHT OVER THE BLANKETS

Did you know that snoring stands 'only' in 2nd place in the top 10 of annoyances in bed? Number 1 - you guessed it - is pulling away the blankets. Does it really bother you? Either you choose two duvets in one bed, or you simply sleep in a separate bed.

4. MORE INTIMACY

It sounds very contradictory that sleeping separately would create more intimacy. But often it does. It's actually a very Western idea that as a couple you should always sleep together. Couples who already have a so-called SAT relationship notice the difference. According to them, sleeping separately is just good for the relationship. Not only do they sleep better, they organise themselves differently. Intimacy in between sheets (or somewhere else) really becomes a choice, no longer a habit. If you miss each other a little, you long for each other all the more. That's actually quite logical. Who knows, maybe it's just the boost your relationship needs to break through the rut ...

What do you think? Is sleeping separately worth trying or would you rather crawl under the down together?
