WASHING YOUR DUVET: A MUST
We recommend having a duvet with real down cleaned every seven years. This extends the lifespan and ensures you always sleep in hygienic conditions. You shouldn't wash a duvet yourself as it only cleans the outside. Besides, ordinary washing machines can't handle the volume. Chemical cleaning is also out of the question, as it damages the natural protective layer of down.
The only correct solution is a separate wash for filling and cover. This optimally removes the dust, and it makes your duvet allergy-free. Fja-Oeyen washes your duvet in its own professional laundry. Down and cover are separated, washed separately, and dried under ultraviolet light.
QUALITY GUARANTEE
There are quite a few misunderstandings about duvets. To provide consumers with guidance, duvets are assessed according to the European standard EN 12934. This informs you about the composition of the down. And provides insight into the origin, color, the ratio between down and feathers, and the class. The highest class (class 1) is only awarded to duvets with at least 90 percent real goose or duck down. Fja-Oeyen was involved in the recognition of this standard. It goes without saying that all our duvets belong to class 1.
